Here you have another great unique toy from the “PA TOYS OF TIMES PAST” collection! Folks, this is a Louis Marx’s tin windup “PROTOTYPE” Which means it’s basically a one of one. This unique airplane prototype from the Marx archives was designed to drop a pellet in the pilot's head, pull the lever and it shoots out the middle of the celluloid prop. It worked when tested, but no pellets are included. Marked X-697 and 1-9-46 under the wing. 5 1/4" by 6" wingspan. You aren’t going to find another one anywhere out there. A little history lesson on what this prototype is all about. It’s similar to a full sized automotive concept car. Car manufacturers create a visionary idea of a car that they might want to have manufactured. So they make one model that shows what they would want it to look like. And if it fly’s, than it will be mass produced. Some changes here and there might occur and not show up on the production vehicle. Marx toy company had the same idea when they had an idea to put out a toy for production. Their toy development lab was located in Erie, Pa. So the development teams set out to hand make their visionary “concept” toys. Some would eventually make it to full scale production as many never saw the light of day. This particular toy was one of those. Some note worthy information about this toy. It as all prototype toys were all hand made with ever detail hand painted. The lithography was not done until the toys were approved to go into production. You can also tell that this toy is a prototype by the hand painted words of where and when it was made. So, the word Erie and the date made 1-9-46 on the underside of the toy. This toy is in working condition and in great condition. Some of the paint is missing but is expected as it is a very old antique. You aren’t going to find any out there for sale so grab it before it’s gone. So if you want something that nobody has or will ever have, this is the piece for you! It’s going to be a fantastic conversation piece with the history I’ve mentioned. Totally in working condition with some scratches here and there. If you want the best, you have to pay up. Starting the bidding at a low price so everyone has a chance to get in on it. If you want to make me a reasonable offer OVER the starting price, I’ve left that open for you. Any questions just ask. Thanks.

DESCRIPTIONS:  I am a firm believer that pictures speak a thousand words.  I try to include a variety of brightly lit, clearly focused pictures from multiple angles in my listings.  The pictures are a key part of the description.  As a supplement to the pictures I also provide a reasonably detailed written description that discloses what I see, what I know and what I think.  Between the pictures description and written description, buyers should have a fair opportunity to understand what they are bidding on.  If there is something that you do not understand or if you need additional information or pictures please ask in advance of buying rather than assume anything.

FEEDBACK POLICY: I have my automated system setup to leave positive feedback for a buyer after payment has been received and after I have received positive feedback from the buyer. I have it set up this way as I have no way of knowing if a transaction is complete until I receive positive feedback from you. If for ANY reason at all you feel that I deserve ANYTHING but positive feedback, please contact me PRIOR to leaving the feedback. I will do everything in my power to make sure the transaction is completed in a satisfactory way for you. Please do not leave something other than positive feedback and then contact me with the issue. With's new feedback rules, neutral ratings come off a seller's feedback score in the same manner that negative feedbacks do. So, again, I ask for you to contact me with any issues prior to leaving feedback so I can make the transaction a positive experience for you. Thanks
