Porcelain teapot is decorated in thick enamels of cranes and different flowers. It is very colorful and an elegant piece. A teapot is hand molded or by tebineri into a graceful six-sided or hexagonal shape scalloped all around the top rim and sloped inwards towards the bottom. The natural porcelain color hand painted in over glaze enamels with cranes flying and walking about surrounded by lovely flowers. I believe it dates to the late 19thor early 20th Meiji period when Banko ware was in high production for export. A very fine specimen of Banko ware and would make a loverly decorative piece or collectors item if not for use.
