Vintage "Gifts from the Oil Patch" ABO FORMATION Paleozoic Permian Polished Marble Stone Desktop Double Pen Holder

 M & M Enterprises of Midland, Texas

Heavy desktop pen holder has a personalized gold-tone metal nameplate honoring an AMOCO employee for 20 years of service from 1958 to 1978. So this would indicate that this was given out in the late 1970s. It has 2 gold-tone metal pen holders - one on each end.

According to the informative label attached to the bottom, it is made from a slab of stone taken from the ABO FORMATION, with a depth of 7500', in Hockley County, Texas. This stone would date back to the Permian Period of the Paleozoic Era, with an estimated age of 220,000,000 years old.

VERY GOOD CONDITION ~ No issues noted. nameplate could easily be removed if one so desires. I did not remove it, since it serves to authenticate the date this was made.

Please note - INK PENS ARE NOT INCLUDED.

Measures approx. 9 7/8" L x 4" W x 1" thick.
Height from the bottom of slab to the top of the pen holder is 4 1/2".
