Hankscraft was a company started by Marshall W. Hanks in Reedsburg, Wisconsinin the 1940’s. He applied for the patents on the products he perfected, and then would contract out to other companies to make his products. Most notable was Redwing who added an underline to the Hankscraft mark on every product they made. Other manufacturers were used, but only Redwing had this distinction. The underline mark beneath Hankscraft shows this piece was made by Redwing.
The double-walled bowl may be filled with hot water to keep the food warm.
Originally it had two removable wooden corks/stoppers with a ceramic top to plug the holes on either side. But PLEASE NOTE ~ THE ORIGINAL STOPPERS ARE MISSING. These would be very easy to replace, with wood corks. No nicks, chips, cracks, crazing or damage. With the exception of the missing stoppers it is in near perfect condition!
Measures 8" diameter x 2.5" tall.
