EAPG Compote Early Brilliant Glass Co? Fans, Diamonds, Rosettes Lid, Plain Base

Measures approx. 12 1/4" tall with lid (8" without cover) x 8 1/4" rim x 

4 7/8" base diameter.

The lid/cover features a raised band of art deco style fans along the 

bottom edge (The fan pattern is embossed on the inside of the band, 

though it is hard to tell from the photos.) The top of the cover has a 

band of raised hobnails, on which a finial with a diamonds and 

rosettes pattern rests. 

The base is plain. (I am uncertain if the base is original to the cover, 

though it is a perfect fit.)

The lid has a pattern which is very similar in appearance to 

the MELROSE (OMN) pattern, introduced in 1888 by the Brilliant Glass 

Company (LaGrange-OH/Greensburg-PA, Operated: 1880-1889).

I made an inquiry as to the pattern on the EAPG Society's facebook 

page, and there was some speculation the it may be a hitherto 

unknown pattern from the Brilliant Company, that was a forerunner to 

the Melrose line.

VERY GOOD CONDITION ~ No nicks, chips, cracks, flea bites, or damage. Just a few scratches overall. There are some of the typical manufacturer lines/trawmarks, and flaws in the glass.

Should be a great addition to a collection!
