This natural color indicolite tourmaline specimen is a partially terminated crystal section with a relatively thin flat shape. 

***It has medium-dark to dark blue natural color when viewed perpendicular to the c-axis as shown at left. 

This dark blue tourmaline looks almost black until held up to a light as shown. 

***Along the c-axis it is dark. 

There are some faint natural inclusions throughout most of its length, and it has a completely eye clean area at one end that would yield a one carat gem. 

***The remainder of this blue tourmaline crystal section would yield a very nice 4 carat blue tourmaline faceted gem that would face up eye clean with some faint inclusions only visible under close inspection. 

Both gems would have rich dark blue color!
