Our CHIP SAMPLER is an ideal gift for the master griller in your life. Each order includes three bags of wine-soaked oak chips that have been soaked by the wineries for a year. Each bag is different and the varieties will vary depending on which wines are currently being bottled.
Cabernet, Chardonnay, Merlot, Pinot Noir, Sangiovese, and more... all have unique flavors when grilled. believe me! We grill a LOT here at the shop and its always different, unique and finger licking good!
After extended use, wine barrels begin to imbue less flavor into the wine. When this happens, winemakers add fresh oak chips to the barrels. After the aged wine is filtered and bottled, we collect, dry and package those naturally cured chips perfect for grilling and smoking. And yes, you can taste the difference between the different chip-soaked varietals!
To use: About 15-60 minutes before cooking, start soaking the chips in water. For charcoal or wood barbeques, throw the soaked chips directly on the fire. For gas grills, package the soaked chips and water in tinfoil and perforate the package. Place on the grill next to the food and enjoy!
