Measures 6-9/16" X 9-1/4", 100 pp including covers, b&w illustrations, published by Popular Library Inc. (NY), Treasury Of Great Science Fiction Stories #2.

Popular Library had jumped on the "paperback publisher" bandwagon in 1943; and, shortly thereafter, had also begun publishing comic books.  But originally, Popular Library had been a publisher of pulp magazines such as POPULAR DETECTIVE, STARTLING STORIES, BLACK BOOK DETECTIVE, CAPTAIN FUTURE, and so on.  So it was no heavy task for one of the unnamed editors at Popular Library, to browse through the vast catalogue of previously published short stories, and glean a handful of rare gems (including the original artwork, which had appeared with the stories when originally published), providing the following contents:

Uncredited -- Fact Chases Fiction

LEIGH BRACKETT -- The Woman From Altair (illustrated by PAUL ORBAN)
