High Slant-Top Antique Desk w/Provenance

Description: We can picture Bob Cratchit bent over Ebenezer Scrooge's books at this desk, a stern school master keeping an eye on his students for any chance to use the hickory stick he is holding, or even a postmaster supervising the sorting of mail for his town.
We think the desk itself may be walnut or chestnut - do not believe it to be oak or pine - it has two drawers, a lip edge to hold ledgers, books, or pencils, and a flat back on which to rest a lamp, inkwells, or other necessary items.
According to information that comes with the desk, this was owned by Dr. Kiser from Tipp, Ohio and his family. The photos in the last picture are of his family. We do not know names and dates but they were found in one of the drawers of this fine desk when it was shipped from Ohio to NY.
Size: The dimensions are 46 inches high, 36 inches wide and 31 1/2 inches deep. The inside drawers are 12 1/4 x 15 x 3 inches.
Condition: Amazingly excellent condition for their age. Solid, sturdy, well-cared for. We believe this to be either the original paint or an early repaint. The desk top has some marks on it as do other areas but they do not detract from its appearance. The white drawer knobs may not be the original and are loose. There are key holes and half-mortise locks in both drawers but there is no key. Please see photos. Note: this piece is being sold as is. It is antique and has been used lovingly. We just don't have a spot for it in our current home.
Available for pick-up only. Located in Central NY State near Cortland and Ithaca. Convenient to Syracuse and Binghamton areas, about 2 hours north of Scranton PA.
