Very nice Johnson Bros. Old Granite oval platter in the discontinued Sun Up pattern that was manufactured from 1965 to 1970.

This heavy vintage platter measures 12-1/4 inches long by 9-5/8 inches wide.  The chicken and flowers designs are in various shades of brown and yellow on a tan background.

The back is stamped in brown:  Staffordshire Old Granite Made in England by Johnson Bros.  A genuine hand engraving.  All decoration under the glaze detergent & acid resisting colour.  Sun Up.

This beautiful platter is in excellent and very clean condition with no cracks or damage issues.  There are a few very tiny surface scratches mostly around the rim that are not very visible and not at all objectionable.  There is a very small (1/8") rough spot on the edge which is under glaze so it is being attributed to the manufacturing process.

A wonderful addition to a Johnson Bros. Sun Up collection and a great serving piece for your dining table.
