Richard Harding Davis (1864–1916) was a journalist and writer of fiction and drama, known foremost as the first American war correspondent to cover the Spanish-American War, the Second Boer War, and the First World War. His writing greatly assisted the political career of Theodore Roosevelt and he also played a major role in the evolution of the American magazine. He was an active writer and published more than 35 books between 1891 and 1916. His work ranged from historical accounts to fiction, both short story compilations and novels.
Originally published in 1892, Van Bibber and Others introduces Courtlandt Van Bibber, the wealthy man-about-town, who provides a lens on the often ridiculous antics of the rich and famous in Newport and along New York's Park Avenue at the turn of the 20th Century.
Hard-cover with no DJ, 249 pages include B & W Illustrations, 1.3 x 7.8 x 5.1 Inches
