Betty Wales Freshman: This book is written by Margaret Warde c. 1904—p.1920 by The Penn Publishing Company in Philadelphia.
An interesting glimpse into the world of the turn of the 20th century college girl. It's interesting to see the different types of girls and to realize that many of the same "cliquish" personalities and behaviors that exist today were also part of college life more than 100 years ago now. These were the New Women in the making: the athletes, the politically ambitious, the studious wallflowers, the society popular girls who would rather party than study, the girls working their way through college, and the girls who wanted to be a bit of everything, like Betty Wales, who, ultimately, wanted to be liked and wanted to belong, but also wanted to be academically successful.
