Callaway Big Bertha Diablo Driver $55 - SOLD

The Callaway Big Bertha Diablo driver builds on the historic Bertha name to give you a driver that has a big sweet spot for big distance. Did we mention big? This driver has a high Moment of Inertia (MOI), allowing the club to retain ball speed on off-center strikes as well as keeping you shots on line. The Center of Gravity (COG) is positioned to produce longer, boring shot trajectories. Callaway's S2H2 hosel design adds stability and feel to this driver that is long and forgiving.

Review: "The Callaway Big Bertha Diablo driver is an incredibly fun club as it has a huge sweet spot, making it almost impossible to slice or hook, whilst gaining some serious distance down the tee!

Callaway have designed this to be a monster on the golf course! The Hyperbolic Face Technology significantly improves ball speed across the driver's face, generating more distance - even on off-center hits. Designers have redesigned the clubhead to help golfers square the clubface at impact and hit it straight! The Callaway Big Bertha Diablo has striking graphics and will appeal to golfers who want to be seen and heard!

The fiery red finish won't be to everyone's liking, but it certainly floated our boat. But it was only when we hit it that we realized how much fun this club was.
Basically, it features the massive sweetspot that we have come to expect from Callaway, but it also has something else...accuracy. The manufacturer reckons that Diablo is ideal for those of us who like to "give it a rip" off the tee, and especially when we swing more aggressively than normal.

As for the physics, the Diablo benefits from 'Hyperbolic Face Technology', a design which helps to increase the size of the sweetspot, while the so-called 'Edge Technology' means the Callaway wizards have moved weight in the head to maximize MOI. All in all, this is a long son of a gun, and you won't be missing many fairways with it."

Big Bertha Titanium Driver $45
360cc titanium driver size and shallower face promote confidence and stability with a large, wide hitting area. Distance-enhanced trajectory and increased forgiveness by adjusting the wall thickness around the ribbon for optimized center of gravity.

Review: "I shoot in the 80s at 120 slope rating courses and 90s at 130+ slope rating courses and I am not a long hitter (Driver ~ 220 yds, 5-iron ~ 150 yds).

We had a wet weekend here in the northeast due to Ernesto so I took my BB Titanium 360cc driver to Golf Galaxy to compare with "state-of-the-art" drivers. I tried Callaway X460, Callaway FT-3, Callaway 454, Cleveland Hi-bore, Cleveland 460 comp, Ping G2, Ping G5, King Cobra H-9 (?), TaylorMade R7... according to the launch monitor, none gave me additional distance compared to my BB 2004 360cc... According to me, BB Titanium 360cc still gives me the best feel... so, I am staying with this baby
I don't believe when reviewers say they gain 30 yds with new drivers... the ONLY way that they can gain 30 yds is (1) they play with poor quality driver before or (2) they slice or hook the balls before...

If you hit them fairly straight, then I believe that you don't gain much with newer technology. The BB stock shaft is quite OK, I am thinking about reshafting my driver with the Grafalloy ProLaunch Blue, hopefully I will be much more consistent.. I currently have Grafalloy ProLaunch Blue Hybrid shafts in my Snake Eyes hybrid (VERY GOOD clubs) and I hit them quite straight, maybe due to low 2.8 torque."
