This isn't everything about old Ocean Beach, but what it does tell is pretty well backed up by newspaper articles, deeds and other public records. I hope that for the reader who was here in those days it will be a reminder of half-forgotten memories, and for the reader who was not here it will impart the feeling of the times. I wish there had been space to include everyone I know. I stop at 1930 because it was such a definite time of change. The young resort days (before Mission Beach took over) were gone, and the Depression was coming on. We did it backwards; we had our butterfly days first. It was a great time to grow up.
