The only way Mongul can regain the crown of War World is to fight Superman again--and win. So he dispatches the bounty hunter Lobo to Earth to bring the Man of Steel back. After Lobo finds Superman and fights him to a standstill, he tells Superman he has hidden a thermonuclear device on Earth and will turn the planet to dust unless Superman goes with him.
