Comments: Peter Kelliher has been enthralled with wooden flutes, made in the Native American style, ever since he first heard their haunting sounds in the summer of 1997. After purchasing his first flute from Tim Spotted Wolf, Kelliher entered the field of flute-making. Since 1997 he has created more than 200 flutes, and they have been dispersed all over America via craft fairs and home sales. Kelliher offers classes through Adult Education programs in Maine, and he is a member of the International Native American Flute Association. Kelliher entertains in such venues as coffee shops, weddings, funerals, schools, the Maine Music Festival, community television, and as a street musician in the Boston subway system. His CD release, "Wooden Flute Journey," contains solos as well as songs accompanied by native drums, rattles and percussion instruments.
