Vintage original 22 x 28 in. US "Style A" half-sheet poster from the 1920's German-produced WWI-themed documentary, BEHIND THE GERMAN LINES, released in the US in 1928 by Paramount Pictures. Ufa, the great German film company, produced this 1928 documentary about World War I that pulled no punches and was very nonpolitical. Told from a totally impartial point of view, it remains one of the most objective films to date on World War I and and features a synchronized musical score and sound effects. It includes footage of General Von Hindenburg, Kaiser von Wilhelm II, and Admiral Holtzendorff and only a handful of real actors were used to bridge the pieces of actual footage together.
Printed for the film's original US theatrical release in 1928 by Paramount Pictures, this is the "Style A" half-sheet, as indicated in the lower left corner. The design features color-tinted photographs of General Von Hindenburg, Kaiser von Wilhelm II, and Admiral Holtzendorff, along with exciting battle scenes. It is unrestored in fine- condition with some small chips, creases, and signs of wear in the borders. The color tints are fresh and vibrant without any signs of fading.
Few vintage posters depicts images of Von Hindenburg, the Kaiser, and Admiral Holtzendorff and this poster is a true piece of history.
