✅ The Mayhaw tree is a small native fruit tree growing from east Texas to Georgia and as far north as Kentucky. This showy tree is primarily found in bottomland and along the river's edge. It is known for its love of water but will grow well in your yard or home garden, as well. The Mayhaw produces best in partial to full sun locations and is self-fertile. The small cranberry-like fruits are highly prized for making fine jellies, preserves, and syrups. Eaten fresh, it tastes like a crabapple. Mayhaw jelly has been a delicacy in the southeast for generations and a Mayhaw tree will make a fine addition to your landscape.
