Measures 4-1/4" X 7-1/16", 192 pp, written by Glen & Jane Sire, stated "12th {Berkley} Printing, October, 1968," published by Berkley Publishing Corp. (NY), Berkley Highland paperback #F1324.
While this edition is from 1968 (you can tell by looking at the paint job on the jalopy), this book was actually first published in 1958 -- a far more innocent time! Laurie & Sammy are teenage students at Glendale High school, and their main traumas involve fixing Sammy's car, and cramming for tests at school. In between, they encounter picnics, proms, summer jobs, cruisin' along the Sunset Strip in Hollywood, and all the other low-maintenance experiences of being nothing more than a couple of innocent teenage kids in the late 1950s, when a teen felt it was more important to learn the latest dances from watching AMERICAN BANDSTAND on TV after school, rather than worrying about war (any war), inflation, urban violence, political shenanigans, or who did what to whom. (Sigh.) We were much younger then. Will we ever be again?!?
