Description
This is an exquisite antique Victorian silverplate bride's basket in Quadruple Plate by Rockford.
A nice large, heavy piece.
The relief decoration is unique - it appears to be a bacchanalia theme.
Cherubs or fairies cavort with goats and rabbits, with an intertwined border of grape vines.
Raised border with floral decoration.
Pedestal has a border with dragonflies and fishes.
Hinged handle with aesthetic floral decoration.
This is a gorgeous piece and in exceptional condition - no silver loss, only a few very insignificant unnoticeable little scratches. It is shiny and very showy.
The bottom rim of the top section has a slight dent that is not obvious.
From a smoke-free home.
The top is detachable - it screws to the bottom.
The top is 9" in diameter at the top rim.
6 1/2" tall without handle.
About 14" tall including handle.
