Camphor is widely used in Hindu religious ceremonies. as Hindus worship the holy flame by burning camphor. Burning of camphor symbolizes union with God — just as the camphor burns itself out without leaving any residue, so does burning one’s ego in the fire of true knowledge will lead them to complete union with God. According to the ancient Indian traditional systems of healing, camphor purifies the air and inhaling that air has numerous medicinal benefits.

Bhimseni camphor is used in ayurvedic medicine since ancient time. It is heavier than Chinese camphor and sinks in water easily. It is also called as Borneo or Barus camphor. Any edible camphor which is derived from tree /plant/weeds is called Pacha Kapoor.

Bhimseni Camphor has a unique position in the Hindu tradition of pooja, other festive function and traditional law. The burning camphor has a special quality and, naturally, has a special meaning. It is pure white in color, and when burned acquires the huge and burn completely.
