Illustrated with many maps and charts, several paintings on color plates by Dell McCoy, numerous figures, diagrams, and facsimiles, and three-hundred photographs (many in brilliant color) of trains, rails, surrounding landscapes, building projects, and more. A detailed 85 year photographic record, with annotated history of the short-line railroads that operated in the remote regions of the Rocky Mountains. Rubbing with tiny surface-nicks to the shelf-edges, rubbing to the covers, a faint tan spot to the upper page edges, else very good in polished blue linen over pictorial boards, with gilt embossed titles to the spine, blue-and-white headband and tail-band, no dust jacket.
