- VINTAGE / RARE Ping Cat Eye Black Dot Irons:
- Wildly popular since their late 1970's inception, the Ping Eye Irons are the original, and still one of the best cast, perimeter weighted cavity back irons on the market.
- Ping Golf started as a family putter company simply working out of a garage. Today, it is one of the most forward-thinking, technology and data-driven golf companies in the world producing clubs in every category—all while still being 100-percent family-owned and operated. That’s something that can’t be said about any of the other major golf OEMs.
- From a garage to an entire campus, which is what Ping likes to call its headquarters in Phoenix, Arizona, the company has produced some of the most iconic sets of irons ever made, and essentially invented game improvement clubs. And Ping still owns the title for producing the top-selling iron of all time. To look back at the history of Ping irons is to look at a timeline of constantly improving products and technology.
Review: "Played these on and off for 5 years. Handicap went from 16 to 9 in that time. I then tried a new combo set and fell in love with those. The newer irons went further and flew lower. So I felt I'd cracked it hitting 9 irons from 150 yds. Took the pings out the other day out of curiosity. They go higher and not as far, but this is partly because they have weaker lofts. What is noticeable is the control. Using a Pro V1 and wet greens admittedly, but backed up a 5, 6 and 7 iron a good three feet. In summary, my golf has gotten better over the years but these clubs give you more the better you get. More forgiving than anything else when you don't flush it, as good as anything out there when you do. Only downside is lack of distance, but a 5 iron to 20 feet is better than a 7 iron off the green. They may not be pretty but they work!"
