Item description for Vintage Racing Greyhound Tie Clasp and 1948 Miami Dog Track Program

This is a wonderful vintage tie clasp featuring a greyhound dog running a race. It has enamel painted green collar and girth band. It measures approximately 2 ½ inches long and ½ of an inch tall. It is not signed and is most likely from the 1950s. This listing also includes a 1948 Racing Program from the West Flagler Kennel Club in Miami, Florida and it is described below.

The tie clasp is in nice vintage condition as you can see by the enlarged photographs. There is a spot that looks like it might have been welded at the bottom, but it doesn’t show without magnification, it may have been there from the beginning when attached or it was a repair. Please look at the photo with the arrow as it is part of the description and shows the detail better than I can describe. This can be used as a tie clasp, a money clip, or even as a paper clip on your desk to show your passion for dog racing. It will be a great gift for Greyhound racing fans.

The Racing Program is from Monday, March 29, 1948. Post Time 8:00 p.m. The headline article is “Great Field Goes in Futurity Final Tonite. The original price was .15 cents. If you are looking for a program in mint condition, stop now, this shows wear and damage (see all photos). The cover has a small tear at the bottom and bent bottom corners. The pages have a similar tear, looks like a paper clip tear, but it does continue on the bottom of almost all the pages. There are yellowing stains as well. It measures approximately 7” by 10”. If you are a Greyhound breeder, a fan of old vintage programs, someone interested in the history of a kennel, this would be for you. I'm sure not many of these old programs survived. It would look great framed and hung on the wall of any Greyhound Race lover.
