Upcycled from found fabrics! I love sustainable fashion.

This hat is made of grey and red plaid which had its previous life as a western shirt. The reversible side is black on black subtle pinstriped fabric.

You can wear this reversible hat either way you prefer or depending on your outfit. It has an additional detail which lets you choose how it's worn, you can fold the hat so you can see the underside of the fabric peeking out, or not. You decide.

Ornament the hat with a brooch or a flower pin on one side and reap the compliments. I started making these hats because I get a compliment nearly every time I wear one. Many people comment that it reminds them of 1920s style.

This lovely hat measures 24 inches around. It stretches only slightly. To avoid confusion, I'm not using hat sizes, only head sizes! Measure your head carefully around where you would want the base of the hat to fit. My head (the reluctant model in the photo) measures 22 inches, so as you can see in the photos, this is oversized on me but I like to think I'm still pulling it off :)

The story of Mona Hats:

The Original Mona Hat (there are still some left, check my listings) is made of gorgeous brown and black brocade fabric which my legendary and very classy Aunt Mona gave me (because I could never reason buying $40/yard fabric, that's crazy.) so the Original Mona Hats are made in very limited quantities.

All Mona Hats are made of found fabric, be it at thrift shop, clothing swap, an unwanted gift or otherwise, no new fabric is bought to make these. GO sustainability!

Mona has since left this fine world of ours, so she will live on in our hearts and our hats!
