How to solve Cryptograms: A Cryptogram is a sentence or two written in code. The sentence may be a quotation, a bit of thoughtful advice, or a humorous remark about everyday life. In each cryptogram, one letter of the alphabet is substituted for another letter each time it appears in the sentence. For example everywhere in a sentence an A stands for a P, a J stands for a U, an O for a Z, and so on. Each Cryptogram has a different code. To solve, look, for the letter patterns such as double letters, common word endings, and plurals. A one-letter word is almost always A or I. Frequently used two letter words such as it or is. A three letter word is often The. There are many patterns like this that you will discover as you solve.
