ONE OF THE RARE MODELS THAT IS ACTUALLY LEGAL!
Transmits to regular FM radios/car radio.
Most the units , amazon etc are imported and not actually legal to use, as they are not FCC approved and usually over the legal wattage limit as well.
When the pandemic hit, we had some churches that were looking to be legal for their drive in services, and concerned with using "less than legal" transmitters especially in metro areas where a complaint could be made to the FCC.
It is hard to find a legal unit without spending big dollars, so when we found these so we bought up a few. This is the last one!
Being not as high power as the "illegal" ones, it was found best to put the transmitter in area close to the vehicles.
Not for huge lots or huge areas! I do not know the exact max distance but one customer placed it on a stand within center of parking area of a couple hundred feet or so wide and worked out OK. So I would guess at least 100 ft. Of course depends on vehicle placement, its radio sensitivity etc.
Includes a whip antenna. Of course you could add onto the antenna, but as noted on back, then not be technically legal as you have "modified" the approved device.
Was designed for drive by home sales playing 3 minute pre recorded messages, but also has a continual "test mode" where it can run off a live feed audio input from your mixer or wireless mic receiver, etc to line in or mic in jack (3.5mm) . Also has a lapel mic if you want to keep it simple and just run it from the lapel mic.
You may need an additional cable to meet your needs. We do have a separate listing for 1/4" to 3.5mm gold plated cables.
There is a procedure of buttons to push each time to transmit continually off the live input, so we typed up some helpful step by step instructions (in addition to the user manual). If you follow the steps listed exactly in the order listed, it will work. If you do not take the time to read and follow them, it will not work.
This could also be used indoors as a second language transmitter or hard of hearing transmitter (along with walkman type radios not included)
Condition as received looks to be new, not in orig box, but we did open it up and test it out so there are some signs of handling.
Note, There is an "options" cord with RCA plug that I do not have instructions for but was for some additional unknown feature.
Buyer to have basic technical knowledge of connecting to audio, and willing to follow the instructions.
