Vintage original 11 x 14 in. US title lobby card from the 1930's WWI-themed documentary, THE FIRST WORLD WAR, released in 1934 by the Fox Film Corporation. Written by Laurence Stallings and produced by the Fox Movietone News arm of Fox Film Corporation, this expanded newsreel, using stock-and-archive footage, tells the story of World War I from inception to conclusion. Alternating with scenes of trench warfare and intimate glimpses of European royalty at home and scenes of conflict at sea combined with sequences of films from the secret archives of many of the involved nations.
The design features an image of the corresponding book by Laurence Stallings along with artwork of men enduring the horrors of war. It is unrestored in very good+ condition as shown.
The world premiere showing of this film was at the Rialto Theatre in New York on November 7, 1934. (New York Sun, 7 November 1934).
