These two books offer evidence that truth is funnier than fiction.  THING has "over 300 hilarious anecdotes (that) really happened!", while GIFT offers  "the astonishingly frank and uproariously funny confessions of Allen Sherman (remember the "Hello Muddah, Hello Faddah" guy?)  Spine slants and cover creasing and darkening are the books' principal defects (except binding is fragile at one page in THING & there are some page corner creases & an address label in GIFT; bindings are otherwise secure).  432 pages of funny stuff here!
