GOLD PROMO stamp on back. Vinyl plays nicely (play-graded). Cover looks good; light-scuffing, creasing in corners and surface impressions (front/back); back has some surface abrasion. Inner-sleeve is original (Arista info); one seam partially split and one completely split. Spine is somewhat readable with noticeable wear. Minor shelf-wear along top-edge, heavier wear along bottom-edge and corners. Opening is crisp with signs of use, some curling and divots. Slight label variation. (Not a cut-out.)
Through the Storm by Aretha Franklin featured several guest performances including Elton John, James Brown, Whitney Houston, and Kenny G. With the hit title track - a duet with superstar Elton John - being the album's only Top 40 single. The song peaked at No. 16 on the Billboard Hot 100 (No. 17 R&B, No. 3 A/C). The album peaked at No. 55 on the Billboard 200 but reached No. 21 on the R&B Albums chart. It sold about 225,000 copies in the United States and was taken out of print shortly afterwards. The follow-up single, It Isn't, It Wasn't, It Ain't Never Gonna Be was a duet with Whitney Houston. The artwork for the album cover was done by Pop Art legend Peter Max.
