Vintage original 8x10 in. US double-weight matte photograph used to publicize the ACADEMY AWARDS c.1940's (we believe). It features a large shot of the famous golden "Oscar" statuette elegantly placed atop a piece of velvet with silver stars emanating from its base. This photograph was used for publicity purposes (most likely for a newspaper or magazine as evidenced by the writing on the verso), as each star was hand-painted in silver. It is in good- condition only with a horizontal crease through the center of the statue's head; random signs of wear in the borders; and some unobtrusive surface scuffs and a few small creases from handling over time.
