This variety of nasturtium is like the old variety. It is a sprawling, trailing variety that flowers well above the foliage with semi-double and double facing blooms. Colors can include primrose, gold, orange, red and mahogany. Nasturtiums make excellent bedding plants and are also good for growing in rockeries, troughs, tubs or large hanging baskets. All parts of the plant are edible, use to brighten up salads or use in stir fries, flowers have a peppery taste. Prefers poor dry soil; rich moist soils produce mostly foliage and few blooms. Does not transplant well. If raised indoors, sow seed in pots, at 65 F, and transplant carefully.
