Vintage original 8x10 in. US single-weight glossy photograph from the classic 1950's black market-themed war comedy, JOE BUTTERFLY, released in 1957 by Universal-International and directed by Jesse Hibbs. The staff of "Yank" magazine are among the first American troops into Tokyo after the Japanese surrender. Their mission: produce an issue of the magazine...in three days. To accomplish the seeming impossible, they reluctantly enlist the aid of black marketeer and arch-conniver Joe Butterfly, who sets them up in a palatial private mansion, complete with lovely daughter -- strictly against regulations. How much trouble can our heroes talk their way out of? The cast includes Audie Murphy, George Nader, Keenan Wynn, Keiko Shima, John Agar, Charles McGraw, and Fred Clark.

The image depicts American troops Sgt. Ed Kennedy (George Nader, center left) and Sgt. Jim McNulty (Charles McGraw) standing their ground with two Japanese officers as two other Americans and various civilians in the background watch. This photograph was signed in black Sharpie by George Nader. It is in very fine- condition with only random signs of light wear on the corners. There are no pinholes, tears, stains, writing, or other flaws.

Silent Cinema Inc. (the seller here) guarantees the authenticity of George Nader's signature.
