The self-styled "King of Horse Trainers", Prof. Oscar Gleason published a number of books in the 1890s on horse care, breaking, and training. This is a salesman's sample of his most popular work. It includes excerpts of chapters from throughout the book and is profusely illustrated with drawings and b/w plates of paintings. There are blank pages in the back with sales records (in pencil) as well as a sample of the leather spine glued inside the back cover.

Black- and gilt-stamped cloth boards. 8.75" x 6". More than 100 pages (excerpted from the full book of 484 pages). Profusely illustrated.
