The T-face barbute was developed during the 15th century. These helmets were popular throughout Europe and offered an alternative to the more restrictive sallet. The extended sides protected the neck and jaw, dispensing with the need for a separate bevor or gorget. Developed with the assistance of Medieval reenactors our medieval GDFB T-faced barbute replicates the helmet of the ‘Avant’ armor housed at the Kelvingrove Museum, Glasgow and is crafted in 14 gauge steel with an adjustable leather liner and chinstrap. Wear with a padded arming cap for cushioning.

Historically Accurate, circa 1460

Comments: Recommended. From CAS Iberia (imported from Get Dressed For Battle aka GDFB) good gear! One of the few on the market  that are fully functional.
