Greek Komboloi Vintage Catalin with Swirling Butterscotch Amber Color RR

You are presented here with an exceptional Greek Komboloi that is entirely hand carved by a master Bead carver.

Description 

• Material : Vintage CATALIN-- pre 1940 - Very rare.
• Tassel : Sterling Silver - entirely hand made. All metal parts are Sterling.
• General : 25 ROUND Beads, two fromt beads.
• Size of beads :  11mm. diameter
• Total length 35 cm - weight : 34 grams 
• Color : Yellow Butterscotch Amber color  - With the special texture of Catalin and fantastic marbling. Close up pictures will attest of the exceptional attraction of this item.

Catalin is a phenol base synthetic resin - very close to Bakelite - and which originally was produced by the Catalin Company Corp, when the patent of Bakelite expired in 1927. The kown formula was widely imitated later and many small artisanal workshops started making that type of material, each adding its own "secret ingredients" but keeping the generic name. These beads are vintage beads which were carved some 40 + years and were part of an estate. The metal parts are new as well as the design.
