Teknic SST-1500-103 Digital Servo Drive CNC DSP
Has option: "ACX".
This is a digital servo driver that takes a step and direction signal. For full specs see the technical sheet. This is great for CNC mills and other robotic applications and its one of the most flexible drivers I've ever found. Its compatible with any permanent magnet motor of any type.

Below is information on SST drives:
The SSt-1500 is a high bandwidth, digital vector servo drive. The integration of position, velocity, and torque loops enables this drive to provide surprising performance enhancements over other digital servo drive implementations.
For years, Teknic has proven the benefits of tightly integrating servo compensation with torque control under the control of a dedicated DSP per axis. The third- generation of drive using this design philosophy, the SSt- A series was the first Teknic SSt drive to utilize this topology in such a way to allow all information to be shared in real time so all system functions cooperate in any situation. For example, if the torque loop senses voltage saturation, that is instantly passed upstream to the servo compensator and the system delivers a coordinated response, maintaining elegant load control. The result is performance superior to competitors digital servo drives or analog torque amplifiers. OEMs will realize tracking, settling, and smoothness of motion improvements - all of which yields superior machine throughput and reliability.
The 1500 has an open control interface and will work with almost any servo controller or indexer with little to no software change. Moreover, it will elegantly control permanent magnet servomotors from virtually any manufacturer.
HIGH BANDWIDTH SERVO CONTROL
The SSt-1500's servo performance is the product of fifteen years of algorithm refinement capitalizing on truly unique design architecture.
Superior Tracking Accuracy
Advanced feedforward gains significantly improve tracking performance and do not create the audible noise and torque chatter of traditional implementations.
Near Zero Settling Time
For demanding point to point applications, the SSt-1500-A can provide near zero settling time. (The very latest SSt, called the U-series, provides zero settling time.1)
Ultra Smooth Motion
Teknics proprietary Regressive AutoSplineTM (RAS) technology produces ultra-smooth trajectories. The profiles are jerk and jerk-derivative limited, which reduces shock, vibration, noise, and mechanical wear-even in high speed machines.
Adaptive Tuning
The SSt utilizes an adaptive control algorithm (IMT) based on neural fuzzy logic. The IMT virtually eliminates the concern of inertia matching and allows for loads of large and varying inertia.
Ease of Performance
Some systems are high performance and others easy to use. Few are both. The SSts cascading PIV control structure provides cutting edge performance with ease of use. Even the sophisticated RAS and IMT are intuitive to use and simple to set up.
Flexible, Low-Effort Integration
The SSt has OEM friendly features designed to make upgrading performance quick & painless.
Drop-in Controller Compatibility
A series SSt drives accept a digital trajectory command that is compatible with most indexers and servo controllers and requires little to no software change. This provides a performance upgrade for servos and allows for drop-in stepper replacement.
Universal Motor Interface
SSt drives control rotary and linear servomotors, brush motors, galvos, voice coils, etc. from virtually any manufacturer without electrical restriction on the motor.
Development/Assembly Feature Examples
Robust PIV compensator entirely eliminates production tuning.
Compatible with QuickSetTM, the 1500 provides diagnostics to production-qualify mechanical systems to reduce infant failure due to assembly errors and allows for quick trouble shooting.
QuietDesignTM EMI reduction system eliminates shield clamps, ferrite slugs, etc. required to meet CE.
Built-in systems detect faulty cables and sensors.
OEM friendly cabling is robust, mass producible & testable. And with Teknics motor CAD drawings available at no charge, the cabling is economical to build.
Daisy chain power avoids star pattern complexity.
No heat sinks or fans are required to meet specifications.
SSt servo drives are today's way to get the easy digital control and low cost of a stepper motor system, but with state-of-the-art DSP driven, sinewave-commutated brushless servo performance. Unlike most servo drives that control only torque or velocity, SSt servo drive also controls position by using digital "step and direction" pulses as input. And it's the only high-performance servo on the market that can compete on a price basis with open-loop stepper motor systems.
Servo Drives
In Teknic SSt-series Servo Drives, a high-speed DSP control processor controls all of the feedback loops: position, velocity and actual torque. Torque is actively measured and controlled, with losses in the motor effectively minimized. The operation is truly all-digital: the motor currents are converted directly into digital format for the DSP and the outputs to the motor are digital PWM pulse streams-no drift- or noise-prone analog processing is used whatsoever.
The dedicated DSP processor within the SSt servo drive knows, at all times: the state of the position/velocity compensator, the state of the motor's magnetic field, the output voltages of the amplifier, the limit switch inputs, the RMS current in the motor, and numerous other variables. The SSt's proprietary control algorithms are specifically designed to make good use of all this information. The result is superior performance not only in the standard benchmarks (bandwidth, settling time, tracking accuracy), but also in the subjective benchmarks such as quiet jitter-free operation, virtual elimination of overshoot, reduction of torque "chatter", and more. In addition, the DSP's knowledge of the entire state of the servo system enables several unique features. Thousands of hours of computer simulation and experimentation have yielded, among other features: Adaptive Inertia Matching Technology (IMT), Hard-stop homing, fuzzy MoveDone signal false trigger suppression, and continuous current sensor calibration.
SSt servo systems deliver the best price/performance in position mode (digital step & direction input) where the DSP controls all servo loops. However, the SSt servo drive is also available in a analog interface version so you can get the benefits of closed-loop vector torque control, true RMS limiting, and sinewave commutation (among others) using a traditional servo control board.
