Hi There, This is a 100% compatible replacement PLA for all models of the Commodore 64 Breadbin units and Commodore SX-64. It is NOT suitable for the later C64C systems with the "Shortboard" PCB - this doesn't have the PLA or 906114-01 chip fitted. The PLS100N is the chip that was fitted to the original 64 before Commodore de-lidded it and basically copied the internals to make their own version, the 906114-01.
These more modern chips run cooler and last longer than the original Commodore PLA's. They are 100% compatible, I have run lots of games and timing critical demos as well as testing them with newer peripherals for them. These chips will be programmed to work with your Commodore 64 prior to shipping - they will not need programming. (I have been asked this a few times). |
