On DVD or VHS:
A historic RARE documentary produced by Washington Park of one of the most famous match races in history between the 1955 Kentucky Derby winner, SWAPS and the 1955 Horse-of-the-Year, NASHUA, that Washington Park played host to on August 31, 1955.
Shows footage of the highly anticipated arrival of both horses at Washington Park, rare barn scenes of both horses' and their connections behind-the-scenes and all the hoopla surrounding the upcoming, "Race of the Century", and everything that went down during and after the race.
This documentary has never been released commercially to the general public and has been seen only by a handful of people as this was given EXCLUSIVELY to the inner-circle connections of both SWAPS and NASHUA from the Washington Park staff - so a highly obscure piece of racing history.
AS AN ADDED BONUS...three priceless segments are added after the original feature:
1) NASHUA, the 1955 Woodward Stakes winner, with vintage film footage of him when he ruled supreme in addition...NASHUA is shown at 30-years-old retired at Spendthrift Farm with his long-time groom, Clem Brooks
2) A look back at the mind-boggling career of SWAPS - the greatest California-bred who dominated in both sprint and marathon distances making him one of the most versatile racers in history
3) A TVG mini-segment on the history of the Swaps Stakes in addition to statistics and records that SWAPS broke during his illustrious career
21 Minutes.
