MICHAEL NISPEROS:
Michael was born in 1953 in Glendale, California. He was educated at Los Angeles Valley College and then spent two years studying in the Fine Arts Program at California State University. After receiving a scholarship at California State University, he furthered his education by studying at the Art Center College of Design in Los Angeles. He gained professional experience as a designer for an international art corporation and for an art wholesale manufacturer.

Michael’s works have been published in several reputed magazines such as ARTnews, Art in America, Norma Burba Trulsson, Palm Springs Life, The Phoenix Gazette, and The Arizona Republic. In addition, he has been a recipient of the Masters Award for a painting at the Armand Hammer Museum of Fine Art and Cultural Center. He has also given a lecture series in China at several Chinese art studios.

Michael Anthony Nisperos is an abstract and figural expressionist. He has organized his paintings both chronologically and thematically, which reflect his attraction to modern life. His ambitious works offer a fresh vision into the meaning of the human experience. Throughout his energetic imagery, he has captured the elusive subjects of emotion. His paintings and drawings are highly attuned to contemporary culture. Fascinated and influenced by primitive artifacts he addresses every brush stroke with passion and desire.

Diversity of subjective and non-subjective images combined with Michael’s hatching away layers of paint with his palette knife reveals its eternal life. Michael analogizes his technique as image, which is released for its first breath of air. We are the witnesses of the recorded process, taking part in Michael’s discoveries and universal questions addressed in each piece. Michael believes that through his painting awaits the answer to his creative balance of expressionism.

Nisperos’ works are presentations of multifaceted expressionism. "…Sculptures of canvas" as they have been called.

His work can be found in private and corporate collections all over the world and are exclusive to Artworld of Sherway in Canada.
