As the parents of a child with autism, we well aware of the time and effort it takes us (parents and families) to be advocates for these children and to make sure they have what they need. Whoever came up with the idea of using pictures for communication was brilliant! As a computer programmer and amateur photographer, we have spent many weeks working on communication images for our daughter. From my conversations with other parents, we have learned that many parents would love to get involved with creating PECS for their children but they either do not have the time or don’t know where to begin! So, we developed Print it Yourself Communication Boards for them.

Print It Yourself Communication Boards – Volumes 1 - 4 consists of the pages below, each  containing twelve photos/symbols that represent a specific theme. Each page is saved in PDF (Adobe Acrobat) format, so that you can print out the complete page anytime you want and as often as you want. Since the page is formatted to create two pages in a 4x6 photo album, you can create a simple but effective communication book, very quickly.

Each image is 2 inches by 2 inches and each page is formatted to fit two pages of a 4x6 photo album! Or you can cut each image to fit into your PECS communication book.  The photographs and images would be what you would consider to be what the average person in the United States would use. For example, the Restaurants page has images of fast food and chain restaurants. This product is geared towards the individual who is starting to create communication books. If your child has communication boards, chances are my images and selections are very similar to what you have.
