Welcome to my Rough Room!  Here you will find items that don't measure up to my standards of VG+ or above to be listed as one of my regular VINTAGE,  Fisher Price Little People play sets.  However, these sets still have infinite play value left and I don't have the heart to discard them.

Items relegated to My Rough Room may exhibit any or all of the following "FLAWS:"

1. Faded, absent, torn, stained, or discolored lithos; some may also exhibit multiple bubbles, creases, marks, or rubs;

2. MAJOR CHEWS or PROMINENT teeth marks on some of the Little People or accessory pieces;

3. MAJOR rubs on facial features of Little People;

4. SIGNIFICANT paint wear on bodies of Little People;

5. Cracks or repaired cracks on plastic surfaces etc.; and

6. Abrasions/scratches, "dings," chips, and/or discolorations on plastic surfaces.

Please look carefully at the pictures I have provided for a more accurate idea of the condition of each piece.  This lot contains figures from GOOD-VG condition.  In general, I would characterize this lot as being in VG condition.

In order to offer these below my cost, I'm leaving the cleaning of the Little People and accessories to their new owners. I have already thoroughly Q-tip cleaned the Houseboat itself.

This particular set features 13 pieces, some of which are VHTF (little blue boat,  lobster table).  It is complete except for its pull string and 2 life preservers. In addition, the Houseboat no longer makes a clickty-clack sound when it's pulled/pushed.  The Houseboat's lithos are all intact with only a few residual black marks being noted.

The EXTERIOR lithos on this Houseboat are wonderful!  With the exception of some minor edge wear (e.g. on the edge of the captain's dashboard console), and a residual black mark and torn corner on the left hand side FP logo,  I do not see any other damage on any of the other EXTERIOR lithos (e.g. stains, rubs,  tears, bubbles, creases).  I have tried numerous cleaning products to try and remove this black mark but to no avail.  I'm afraid it's here to stay.  I don't want to belabor the issue and ruin the litho altogether.  (Please consult my photos).

The INTERIOR floor litho is in SUPERIOR condition---no fading, stains, tears, marks etc. The absolutely only thing I can spy are two, pin-head size rubs near the left, lower green column.  That's it!!!

The plastic surfaces of this Houseboat are generally bright and boast their original coloration.  The Houseboat itself displays a few scuffs, isolated scratches, and some residual black marks---not bad for a 38 year old toy!  There are no cracks, chips, or breaks on any of the plastic components.  Even the silver trim on the FP logo at the front of the blue upper deck is 85% intact!  The white plastic trim around the body of the boat displays little, if any, discoloration due to age.  The bottom of the Houseboat shows the most wear---some scratches, scuffs, nicks etc.  The nicks are most prominent in the wheel wells with the screws.  I tried to take this boat apart to fix the clacker and believe you me, FP put those screws in to stay!  I must have worked over an hour to get those screws removed!  While I was at it, I went ahead and cleaned the inside workings of the Houseboat.  So, not only have I scrubbed the "deck" for you, but I've also scoured the interior workings of the boat as well.  The bad news is my repair did not last and the clacker no longer works. And to add insult to injury, I super glued the screws back in place so they couldn't be removed. Lastly, the wheels show some moderate "road wear."

This Houseboat features the following accessories:

1 VHTF little blue boat (GOOD-VG--hint of some slight yellowing and several "dings" around the white border trim and on the upper edge of the windshield; also some  surface scratches on the bottom of the boat and some possible melt marks);

2 HTF yellow lounge chairs (one is in EXC++condition; other is in VG condition with a residual black mark on the foot of the lounger; both chairs possess their original glossy yellow color);

2 shiny red captain's chairs with triangles on the back of the chair (1 in VG+  condition--minor edge wear on the front of the seat and moderate scuffing on underneath side of chair; other chair is in VG++-EXC condition---light wear on front edge of chair);

1 VHTF red lobster table (GOOD-VG ---edge wear, scratches and teeth marks on litho);

1 HTF yellow grill (GOOD---scratches, puncture marks, edge wear to litho);

1 HTF, all plastic, yellow bodied smiling boy with freckles and red cap facing forward (VG+--some roughness to left edge of hat brim; NOT CHEWS; also some edge wear on bottom of piece);

1 all plastic, red bodied girl with blond bob VG-VG+--pin- head size rub to left eye; shallow indentation near left eye; a little fraying of back edge of collar;

1 all plastic, blue bodied lady w/blonde pony (VG++-EXC--light rubs to left eye; without these, she would be in MINT condition);

1 Lucky w/red collar (EXC++-NEAR MINT--light scratches on one side of body but color has NOT been displaced); and

1 VHTF white bodied captain (Dad) w/blue cap (GOOD-VG--roughness and teethmarks on cap's brim; couple of shallow abrasions on top of cap due to child's tooth).

REMEMBER, this VINTAGE FP playset is NOT included in the recent Fisher Price recall of toys manufactured in China. This playset was manufactured in the good ole' U.S.A. in 1972!! It's over 39 years young and still exemplifies FP's reputation for imaginative, durable toys.

Purchasers should refrain from allowing children under 3 years of age to play with these toys without adult supervision or to offer these toys to children who may be still mouthing their toys.
