The Santa Fe Grande is a New Mexico chile pepper, also known as "Yellow hot chili pepper" and the "Guero chili pepper", is a very prolific cultivar used in the Southwestern United States. They ripen from a pale yellow to a bright orange or fiery red. With their sweet flavor, mild heat, and vibrant color, the Santa Fe Grande pepper is a favorite in the American Southwest. They make an excellent bell pepper substitute, mild enough to eat raw no matter your heat tolerance though with a little extra sweetness. These chilies are about as mild as mild can get. Their Scoville heat range runs from 500 to 700 Scoville heat units. Use as a substitute for bell peppers; chop them up raw for salads, pickle them for a delicious side or snack. These plants provide heavy yields, so you can expect a constant stream of beautiful and tasty peppers throughout the growing season. At maturity, peppers will be about 3? long.
