Description
This is the most adorable vintage 1920's or 1930's handmade coverlet set, with boudoir pillow, runner, and dresser scarf or doily set.
Totally charming and so sweet.
The coverlet is large patchwork squares of pastel organza in pale green, yellow, pink, and lavender.
All the pieces are graced with dainty embroidered flowers, done in silk threads.
Edged with pleated netting ruffles.
THE COVERLET is a twin size in my estimation.
Patchwork of pastel organzas. Some squares have floral embroidery of pink roses and blue delphiniums, with green foliage.
Edged on three sides with a delicate antique netting ruffle.
Backed with what appears to be rayon.
82" x 96"
THE BOUDOIR PILLOW
is also patchwork with embroidered squares. Edged with netting ruffle. Filled with what feels like cotton stuffing.
30" x 17"
THE DRESSER SET has four pieces:
One long narrow rectangular patchwork doily with embroidery 5 1/2" x 18"
Two yellow wider rectangular doilies with embroidery 11 1/2" x 9 1/2"
One green runner with patchwork and embroidery border 19 x 50
CONDITION
All pieces are in really lovely, clean condition. These are possibly around 100 years old, however, so they do have some very light scattered brownish age spots - not many, and really not noticeable.
Some of the green patches on the coverlet seem to have faded, or the colors have run on the green squares - truly not a distraction from the overall charm.
They really are in remarkable condition for their age - they look fresh and clean, and the fabric is still crisp. The overall effect is really quite lovely.
Clean and odor free from a smoke-free home.
