Check out this CLASSIC, VINTAGE FISHER PRICE LITTLE PEOPLE #938 Sesame Street House play set!  Manufactured between 1975-76, this Fisher Price Sesame Street Play House is getting harder and harder to find, especially in this condition (EXC++-NEAR MINT). I've painstakingly scoured the United States and Canada to assemble this "TREASURE." This particular offering is 100% COMPLETE plus I've included four extra pieces of furniture to add to the fun.

The plastic handle, locking mechanism, and the rest of the plastic roof and base are intact and totally FREE of any chips, cracks, breaks, "dings," repairs, or discolorations.  They all have retained their original bright colors and glossy finish! 

The EXTERIOR lithos are in REMARKABLE condition.  After closely examining this piece, I can find the following:

1.  Some minor loosening of the trash can litho on the orange half of the house; I will  be attempting to resecure this with some Rubber Cement;

2.  Two bubbles above the second story windows on the green half of the house;

3.  One teensy rub on the brick litho next to the tire swing litho; and

4.  A handful of tiny bubbles and two, vertical hair-line creases on the main Fisher Price logo.

Other than the aforementioned "imperfections," there are NO other stains, stray marks, rubs, bubbles, creases etc. on any of these EXTERIOR lithos!  I've been "super nit-picky" in describing these lithos because I don't want anyone to be disappointed in any of their purchases from me.  In general,  I would rate these exterior lithos as being in EXC++-NEAR MINT condition.

The INTERIOR WALL and FLOOR lithos are likewise SUPERB (NEAR MINT)!  The absolute ONLY "FLAWS" I can spot are:

1.  Some moderate bubbling and creasing of the floor litho in Bert and Ernies's room; and

2.  One, 1" hair-line crease on the left hand edge of the rug litho in Big Bird's room.

That's it!  The wall lithos and other floor lithos are PRISTINE (MINT).  NOTE:  I've lowered my overall rating of this piece from NEAR MINT-MINT to EXC++-NEAR MINT solely because of the bubbling etc. on Ernie and Bert's floor litho.  This is an OUTSTANDING base!

The painted edges of this piece show little, if any, paint loss. (Please see photos).  Most of these play sets exhibit a significant amount of paint loss on the edges of the wooden walls that meet in the middle. 

The chalkboard is GORGEOUS (NEAR MINT condition). There are a few light scratches on the chalkboard but these are extremely minor in nature.

This "EXEMPLARY" playset comes with all of the following pieces:

1 HTF gold Bert bed without its original foam (VG+- if the original foam was still there, this bed would warrant a NEAR MINT-MINT rating);

1 HTF gold Ernie bed without its original foam (VG+ --if the original foam was present, this bed would easily garner a NEAR MINT-MINT rating);

1 HTF lunch counter (MINT);

1 newstand (MINT);

1 VHTF Sesame St. lamp post and sign (NEAR MINT--there's no yellowing on the white bulb; ABSOLUTELY no chews; the sign on one side is FLAWLESS without any rubs on the lettering; the sign on the other side possesses a couple of tiny rubs on the white outline surrounding the lettering);

1 HTF gold table with pork chop litho (NEAR MINT-MINT; one teensy bubble on litho; otherwise, the litho on this table is PHENOMENAL---IT LOOKS BRAND NEW!); 

1 HTF brown Grover TV (NEAR MINT--minor edge wear along the top of the Grover litho; one scratch on top of TV); 

1 VHTF brown nest for Big Bird (MINT);

1 HTF brown sofa (EXC++-NEAR MINT- minor wear on skirt on front and back of sofa; rest is PERFECT);

1 RARE brown coffee table (EXC++-NEAR MINT);

2 HTF gold captain's chairs with triangles on back (NEAR MINT-MINT);

1 HTF green and white Sesame St. Sanitation Truck with Fisher Price written on wheels (NEAR MINT--absolutely no rust on wheel hubs; some light surface scratches);

1 VHTF blue mailbox with litho (NEAR MINT---minor edge wear on lower right hand side of litho);

1 VHTF fire hydrant on gray stand (MINTY MINT); 

1 RARE Sesame St. ladder (EXC++-NEAR MINT---couple of scratches and barely perceptible "nibbles" on platform ends); and

1 RARE box of original, unused Fisher Price chalk (NEAR MINT-MINT---all 3 pieces of chalk are in UNUSED CONDITION and UNBROKEN; box is in EXC++-condition with minor edge wear,rubs, and creasing on flaps and edges; all flaps are intact); and

1 EXTREMELY RARE FISHER PRICE eraser with 100% of its original foam (MINT).

This set also contains all of the beloved Sesame Street Little People characters:

1 HTF Gordon (NEAR MINT--one possible pin-head size indentation on the far right hand side of his mouth; it's so hard to see; I may be imagining things);

1 HTF Susan (MINTY MINT);

1 HTF Mr. Hooper (MINTY MINT);

1 HTF Big Bird (NEAR MINT--some roughness on end of beak; don't see any chews);

1 HTF Cookie Monster (NEAR MINT- -pin-head size rubs on both eyes); 

1 HTF Bert (NEAR MINT--one, teensy indentation on tip of hair tendril on back of head; only found this through touch);

1 HTF Ernie (NEAR MINT---faint rubs to both eyes;ADORABLE!  NO CHEWS ON HAIR!@!!); and

1 VHTF Oscar in trash can without handle (NEAR MINT--scuff on ridge on top of can; everything else MINTY MINT).

As mentioned above, I've also added some furniture to this offering:

2 HTF brown stuffed chairs (EXC++-NEAR MINT--minor edge wear on lower edges of front and back skirts; color matches perfectly to couch and coffee table); and

2 HTF gold captain's chairs with triangle on back (VG+-VG++--edge wear to front of seats).

I will be thoroughly Q-tip cleaning this Vintage play set using a variety of cleaning products.  I spend a MINIMUM of 1 - 1 1/2 hrs. cleaning EACH AND EVERY VINTAGE FISHER PRICE LITTLE PEOPLE play set that I sell.  My sets are IMMACULATE! 

REMEMBER, this VINTAGE FISHER PRICE LITTLE PEOPLE play set is NOT included in the recent FISHER PRICE recall of toys manufactured in China. This playset was manufactured in the good ole' U.S.A. in 1976!!!! It's 36 years young and still exemplifies FISHER PRICE's reputation for imaginative, durable toys. 

Purchasers should refrain from allowing children under 3 years of age to play with these toys without adult supervision or to offer these toys to children who may be still mouthing their toys.
