Both the albums SOLD OUT and STRING ALONG were recorded in 1960, and definitely show the rare versatility of THE KINGSTON TRIO.  The big hits from both albums were "BAD MAN'S BLUNDER" (the 45 RPM record of which was sold as a benefit record, the proceeds of which were used to pay for CISCO HOUSTON'S hospital bills (he was dying of cancer); "RASPBERRIES STRAWBERRIES," which is partially sung in French; and "EVERGLADES," which contains a humorous dig at THE EVERLY BROTHERS at the very end.  The Trio once again venture into other languages with "MEDLEY:  TANGA TIKA & TOERAU" and "MANGWANI MPULELE," plus a handful of Irish and English folk songs ("THE MOUNTAINS O' MOURNE," "THE HUNTER," and "WITH YOU, MY JOHNNY"); a couple of humorous English music hall songs ("WITH HER HEAD TUCKED UNDERNEATH HER ARM" and "THE TATTOOED LADY"); a traditional song of Mexico ("FAREWELL ADELITA"); some adaptations of earlier American folk songs ("THE ESCAPE OF OLD JOHN WEBB," "THIS MORNIN', THIS EVENIN, SO SOON," WHO'S GONNA HOLD HER HAND," "ALONG THE COLORADO TRAIL" and "BUDDY BETTER GET ON DOWN THE LINE"); and even rocks out the joint on a rousing RAY CHARLES number ("LEAVE MY WOMAN ALONE"); plus many more, as below:
