Very unusual -- most of the books and movies that I have seen, that have used the U. S. Merchant Marine during World War II as a backdrop, have been centered in the Atlantic war zone.  But THE CALENDAR EPIC provides a whole 'nother setting, in the war zone of the South Pacific.
