Measures 8-7/32" X 10-27/32", 42+ pp, written with full color illustrations by Alec Stevens, published 1989 by DC Comics / Piranha Press (NY).
Piranha Press was an off-shoot of DC Comics, and was intended as a venue for comics and graphic novels that did not quite "fit" the DC, family-friendly model (one of the reasons that it didn't last long, and was superseded by the Vertigo imprint). Piranha became the home for a number of graphic novels and comics which explored the boundaries of sequential art expression, sometimes quite successfully -- but often with no more than a yawn from a very-uncurious public.
In THE SINNERS, an old man reflects on his own shortcomings over the course of a lifetime -- the negative choices which he had made, which he has construed as "sins," but which many readers will simply conclude simply as "That's life"; but he finally discovers a path to resolution, and eventually comes to peace with himself, and his former life's choices.
