(1) Antique Cabinet Card Photograph and (2) Carte de Visite (CDV) Photographs. Identified as the family of John William Gooder and his wife Selina Bottomley Gooder. The reverse side of the cabinet photo identifies Selina, John William, plus children Oliver, Eva, Esther and Mary. We have also included a couple CDV photos of what are apparently two of their children, one of them identified as "Selina's daughter Edna" although there are no references in the family lineage we reviewed that makes reference to her. Adding a bit to the confusion is what is written on the reverse side which reads, "Amelia Bottomley, Selina's girl Edna." None of these photos display a location or photography studio, but they do come with the handwritten photo album identifiers as shown and the additional handwritten information on the back of the family portrait and one of the CDVs. Measures approximately 4.25 x 6, and 2.5 x 4 including mounts. Condition: These are original photographs, not a copy or reproduction. The cabinet photo is in excellent condition. The CDVs of the babies have some foxing (age spotting.) Comments: Selina Bottomley Gooder was born May 4, 1843 in Wisconsin and died May 11, 1923 in Riceville, Iowa. She was the daughter of Edwin Bottomley (1809-1850) and Martha Schofoeld Jessop Bottomley (1812-1894). Selina was married to John William Gooder (1943-1926). John Gooder was born November 2, 1843, and died January 5, 1926 in Riceville, Iowa. He was the son of Henry Gooder (1822-1916) and Sarah Hartley Gooder (1822-1904). His siblings included Allen Gooder (1845-1934), Nimrod Gooder (1847-1925), Henry H. Gooder (1851-1917), Hannah Gooder Sinotte (1856-1926), Hiram Gooder (1860-1942) and Edward V. Gooder (1861-1887). The children of Selina and John included Oliver Lincoln Gooder (1864-1946), Mary Ann Gooder Dunton (1867-1954) and Eva Gooder Mielitz (1875-1960). Additional Comments: The photo(s) in this listing were removed from a set of three antique albums originally belonging to Newton Henry Bottomley (1880-1967) and his wife Edna May Hay (1887-1976) who lived in Price, Wisconsin. Many of the other album photos, which are sold separately, were taken in Racine Co. Wisconsin and included Bottomley and related families Sheard, Gooder, Hay, Burns, Skewes, and Hoyt.
