This young plant ranges from 2.5 to 6 inches and ships in a 3-inch-deep pot to keep your shipping costs at a minimum and to allow it to grow to maturity under your green thumb. The first picture shows a mature plant and the second shows typical sizes we ship.

If your plant doesn't look just like the picture, give it a little time to grow up. Elephant ears' attributes become even more defined when they mature.

Average mature height: 6-8 feet
Light: Likes high filtered light but can do reasonably well in 80% shade
Soil: Boggy but well drained
Zones: 7b-11
Pro tip: It is a normal growing habit for elephant ears to lose leaves and new ones grow up from the stem regularly, especially in a small pot because it can't support more than 1-2 leaves, so make sure you repot it, and you can trim the leaves to make room for new ones to emerge.
